The Vintage Computer Preservation Organization or “VCPO”, is currently registered as a Non-Profit organization. Currently, the bulk of our inventory is acquired by purchasing from second hand stores, online auctions and marketplace listings. We are working on obtaining our 501(c)(3) status so that we can provide donation receipts.
As it stands, our organization was officially formed sometime in 2020 but we’ve been collecting vintage electronics since well before that time.
One of our many goals is to open a functional museum where people of all ages will be able to come and experience various eras of technology. No touch museums are fun but we believe that in order to get the full experience you have to be able to touch things.
We work with DIYChris who provides us with free restoration / repair services for all of our vintage technology acquisitions. To operate, we sell back to the community what we have as surplus and archive at least 1 if not 2 of everything.
